Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

An experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery is needed to provide expert maternal care. The role involves floating between Med/Surg and Emergency departments to support patient needs in a dynamic hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and monitor obstetric patients to ensure safe maternal and fetal health.
• Assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum care, including vital signs, assessments, and basic nursing procedures.
• Float to MED/SURG and ER units, managing stable observation and skilled swing bed patients.
• Support ER staff with low-acuity emergency cases, help record events, start IVs, and assist with patient transfers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with team members.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and certification requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid state RN license required at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Current BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications.
• Strong skills in patient assessment, IV management, and basic nursing care.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Ability to float across departments and manage low-acuity patients.
