Associate Director, Software Engineering

Merck seeks an experienced Associate Director of Software Engineering to lead ServiceNow Quality Engineering efforts within the Global Technology division. The role involves defining testing strategies, managing QA standards across ServiceNow modules, and mentoring junior engineers while driving automation and quality maturity initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define, document, and drive testing roadmap and QA standards across ServiceNow modules
• Create detailed test plans and coordinate all testing phases including UAT and regression testing
• Validate functionality, configurations, customizations, and integrations before production promotions
• Lead defect triage meetings, analyze root causes, and collaborate with developers on resolution
• Build and maintain automated test suites using AutomatePro and ServiceNow ATF to improve efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technology field
• 12+ years of experience creating, executing, and managing testing efforts
• Automated Test Framework experience required; AutomatePro knowledge highly desirable
• In-depth knowledge of ITIL processes and IT Service Management best practices
• Excellent organizational and time management skills for multiple simultaneous projects
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies
