Job Title: Retail Pharmacist
Location: Alturas, CA 96101 | On-Site
Contract: 8 Weeks

Position Summary

Modoc Medical Center is seeking a  Retail Pharmacist to provide safe, accurate, and customer-focused pharmacy services. The pharmacist will dispense and compound medications, review prescriptions, counsel patients, manage pharmacy inventory, supervise pharmacy personnel, and ensure compliance with California and federal pharmacy regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense and compound prescription medications accurately and safely.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, interactions, and appropriateness.
• Counsel patients on medications, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, and other pharmacy personnel.
• Maintain pharmacy records, inventory, billing, and prescription data.
• Manage controlled substances and ensure proper medication storage and disposal.
• Resolve third-party prescription processing issues.
• Maintain medication safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and provide excellent customer service.

Required Qualifications

• Active California Pharmacist License in good standing.
• Pharm.D. or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of California and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a healthcare team.
• Retail, community, or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Important Requirement

Candidates must have an active California Pharmacist License and current BLS Certification to be considered.
