Body Shop TechnicianEagle Distributing - Knoxville, TN 37917OverviewPosition Type Full Time Travel Percentage Negligible Category AutomotiveDescription•Review damage reports, prepare cost estimates, and plan work •Remove damaged body parts, including bumpers, fenders, hoods, grilles, and trim •Realign car frames and chassis to repair structural damage •Hammer out or patch dents, dimples, and other minor body damage •Fit, attach, and weld replacement parts into place •Install and weatherproof windows and windshields •Grind, sand, buff, and prime refurbished and repaired surfaces •Apply new finish to restored body partsThis position requires exposure to all seasonal weather conditions, traffic noise, automotive fumes, and cramped quarters.Qualifications*The ability to read, understand merchandise pricing and demonstrate basic math skills are also required of this position. *Critical Thinking: Auto body techs must be able to look at a damage vehicle and assess what it will take to repair it, as well as cost. *Attention to Detail: Having good eyes for detail is necessary when trying to get a vehicle back to looking like new. *Technical Skills: Auto body techs use a wide range of tools and equipment to assess and repair vehicle.*Dexterity: Auto body techs need free range of motion in their hands and arms to work with small parts and small spaces.
