Clinical Supply Chain Specialist - Manhasset - Long Island

Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Supply Chain Specialist in Manhasset, Long Island. The successful candidate will assist the Clinical Supply Chain Management Director and Assistant Directors in controlling inventory supplies across multiple hospital departments, meeting inventory‑turn goals, and managing staff, scheduling, and delivery of medical‑surgical supplies. The role also includes supervisory responsibilities, assistance with hiring and onboarding, and ensuring the efficient operation of the supply chain. Job Responsibilities Manage supply‑chain activities in the Main Operating Room. Maximize available resources to keep supply‑chain policies current and accurate. Serve as a resource to the Business Manager for departmental budget preparation and control. Analyze, prepare, and submit routine and specialized reports. Collaborate with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to avoid credit holds and keep invoices out of exception status. Manage the Human Resources aspects of the department, including firing, hiring, promotion, or discipline. Provide comprehensive departmental orientation to all new personnel and ongoing training to staff. Review and recommend new supply‑chain needs for the department. Ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance, meeting standards set by agencies such as the state Department of Health and JCAHO, and implement performance‑improvement activities. Communicate with colleagues and other members of the medical center and participate in committee work as required. Apply management skills to make good judgments, manage time, meet deadlines, and demonstrate initiative. Maintain continued education in materials‑management operations and equipment, and provide in‑service training to prevent resource loss and maintain safety. Adapt to ever‑changing technology in the related field through professional growth. Act as a visible presence for CSCM customer departments, handling daily operational issues and coordinating action plans and resolutions. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a healthcare‑related field, with 7–9 years of related healthcare experience. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in inventory control, supply distribution, and staff management are required. Knowledge of clinical supply and materials‑management operations, specialty health‑care products, and advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, are essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
