Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiac Telemetry Progressive Care Unit Alexandria, VA, United States Job Identification: 686099 Posting Date: 07/15/2026, 11:56 AM Job Schedule: Full time Location: Inova Alexandria Hospital Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated, experienced Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac Telemetry Progressive Care team. This role will be full‑time on day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (days vary, with three full weekends per six‑week schedule). Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance are available for eligible nurses. The Cardiac Telemetry Progressive Care Unit is a 40‑bed acute care unit with 24‑hour telemetry monitoring. Patients include those with cardiac disorders and other complex diagnoses that require monitoring. Common diagnoses include CHF, chest pain, stable cardiac arrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, uterine procedures, ureteral surgeries, major small/large bowel obstructions, post‑craniotomy patients, and spinal surgeries transferred from ICU. RN Cardiac Telemetry Progressive Care Unit Job Responsibilities Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing relationships. Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interprets trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.Conducts all patient care in a patient‑ and family‑centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet needs throughout the continuum of care. Advocates for patients’ rights and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues. Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning. Documents all patient care activities as per documentation standards and assists healthcare team members with documentation. Evaluates processes to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care. Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making among team members. Minimum Qualifications Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate’s degree (ADN), must complete BSN within five years of start date. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in an acute care setting. Certification: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or authorized to practice under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in Cardiac Telemetry or Medical and Surgical; strongly preferred.
