Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position working day shifts with every-other-weekend requirements and a 1:5-6 patient ratio. Responsibilities 30-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit functioning as an observation unit with quick patient turnover Patient population includes chest pain, abdominal pain, UTI, renal (peritoneal dialysis), and trauma/ortho cases Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with lower acuity patients Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30) Every other weekend required; 4 weekends per 4-week scheduling cycle Floating required within the specialty and to lower acuity units as needed, including a sister facility in Chestertown (typically rare) No on-call responsibilities Holiday coverage required as scheduled RNs on the unit are responsible for clamping/unclamping and documenting peritoneal dialysis exchanges; exchanges are initiated by dialysis nurses Royal blue scrubs required First-time travelers are welcome to apply Any time-off requests should be communicated at the time of initial consideration Requirements Active Maryland (MD) or compact RN license required Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and CPI (CPI training available on-site during onboarding) Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-678226.
