Sr. R&D Engineer- EP

Abbott seeks a Senior R&D Engineer for its Electrophysiology division in St. Paul, Minnesota. The role involves product development for diagnostic, imaging, and ablation therapy catheters, including requirement development, testing, validation, and clinical consultation.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical workflow insights and feedback on EP product use
• Design, conduct, and supervise bench and preclinical studies for product feasibility and regulatory submissions
• Support development of risk management documentation
• Plan, coordinate, and analyze empirical studies; document and report findings
• Participate in project design reviews, planning, and performance tracking

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering, or biological/medical sciences
• 5+ years R&D experience in medical device industry
• Experience in or willingness to learn preclinical testing methods
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across organizational levels
• Technical leadership skills with ability to mentor junior staff
• Ability to work in matrixed, geographically diverse environment and multitask effectively

Compensation: $78,000–$156,000 base
