Job Overview Manager, IT M&A Infrastructure – Private Equity Performance Improvement Services. Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm with over 10,000 professionals across more than 40 countries. The role focuses on delivering pre‑acquisition and post‑deal IT infrastructure solutions to upper‑middle market and large‑cap private equity portfolio companies. Responsibilities Lead pre‑acquisition IT diligence assignments, evaluating infrastructure that supports ERP, WMS, CRM, productivity solutions, communications, and proprietary applications. Analyze enterprise architecture, software development lifecycle, budget & spend, and organizational personnel assessment from multiple perspectives. Design and execute merger‑integration and carve‑out plans for IT infrastructure. Lead Day‑1 and 100‑day post‑deal integration to drive performance improvement and monitor objectives, adjusting strategies as needed. Manage performance improvement assignments, including cloud migrations and cloud spend optimization. Provide interim IT infrastructure & operations management when required. Participate in transition service agreement negotiations, governance, and enterprise architecture alignment. Collaborate with business leaders (Directors and above) to align technology strategy with portfolio company goals. Qualifications 5‑8 years of professional consulting or relevant industry experience, with a minimum of five years in systems implementations, merger integration, business transformation, and change management. Demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas: Solution and enterprise architecture and infrastructure IT assessment and strategy development IT performance improvement and cost reduction Private Equity advisory IT merger integration and carve‑out Business/IT transformation program or project management (e.g., ERP) Collaboration and leading change to improve key business functions, such as supply chain and finance/accounting IT operations and service management Computing infrastructure design and operation including DevOps and TechOps Functional expertise across all towers of IT infrastructure and operations, including compute, storage, hosting strategies, modern LAN, end‑user computing, communications, identity and access management, IT service management, and disaster recovery. Track record of working with business leaders at the Director level or above. Strong written communication skills for client‑facing documentation. Excellent fact‑gathering, analytical, and quantitative skills, including business process mapping. Experience designing and executing internally and externally focused change/communications strategy. Previous strategy and change management experience from a top‑tier strategy firm, niche advisory firm, or Big‑4 consultancy is preferred. Bachelor’s degree required. Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time. Benefits Summary Salary range: $125,000 – $190,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. Discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
