Make a significant impact supporting student growth and development as a part-time school-based Physical Therapist. This rewarding contract opportunity is ideal for dedicated professionals passionate about enhancing children's mobility and participation in academic settings. You’ll work closely with a small caseload near Ohkay Owingeh, NM, collaborating with teams that value your expertise.

In this role, you’ll provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to three students—a kindergartener, a 5th grader, and a 6th grader. Services average approximately three hours per week, including both direct sessions and valuable indirect support. Scheduling is flexible within the school day, with the previous therapist successfully attending one day per week for a few hours. The assignment spans the school year, from August 17th to May 20th.

Qualifications:

• Current Physical Therapist licensure
• NMPED (New Mexico Public Education Department) license required
• Experience or strong interest in working with students within a school or pediatric setting
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Organizational skills for effective documentation and scheduling

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students’ physical therapy needs in educational environments
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans
• Document progress and participate in IEP meetings as needed
• Provide both direct therapy and consultative support to staff and families
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student outcomes
