RN - CVICU

CICU/CVICU Registered Nurse - Night and Day Shifts

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00); Day 3x12-Hour (07:30 - 19:30) with rotating shifts.

The CICU/CVICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to adults and geriatrics in a critical care environment. The nurse will work in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to manage complex cardiovascular conditions and other related illnesses.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients with cardiovascular issues including cardiogenic shock, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
• Administer medications and treatment protocols as per physician orders.
• Perform specialized procedures such as bedside central line insertions, bronchoscopy, and chest tube insertions.
• Manage life-support equipment including Impella, IABP, CRRT, and mechanical ventilation.
• Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 2 years of experience in CICU or CVICU.
• Active RN license in the state of Maryland or compact license.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS. CCRN certification preferred.
