Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for ICU Nurses!

Job Description:


- Shift: 12-Hour Nights
- Weekend Requirements:
- 6-9 weekends in a 6-week schedule
- Minimum of six weekend shifts per schedule


- First to Float:
- Must be flexible to float as needed
- Potential to float within Zone 3 in extreme situations


- Unit Notes:
- ICU/Cardiac Surgical ICU
- 24 Beds
- Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:2


- Required Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- CRRT preferred

- Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients:
- Cardiac and cardiac surgical (TVAR, CABG, etc.)
- General medical ICU population


- Experience/Skills Required:
- General critical care experience
- Ability to perform 12-lead EKG
- Flexibility, adaptability, and strong teamwork


- Additional Information:
- RNs are required to titrate drips
- Common titratable & set rate drips: Vasopressors, Inotropes, Sedatives, Analgesics, Metabolic
- Charge Nurse does not take an assignment
- Nurse Aids available with ratios
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in-house
- RT support in ICU 24/7


- Equipment & Monitoring:
- CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, Vents available
- Philips monitors (RNs read their own strips)

- Scheduling:
- Self-scheduling allowed with pre-approved time off
- Schedule to meet department needs and equitable staff distribution

- Orientation:
- Unit/Department specific orientation scheduled during the week of onboarding


- Cancellation Policy:
- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment


- Charting System:
- EPIC


- Guaranteed Hours:
- 36 hours per week


- Contract Weeks:
- 13 weeks
