This role is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the security architecture for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, Agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Machine Learning (ML) solutions across the enterprise.The AI Security Architect provides technical leadership to ensure AI technologies are deployed securely, comply with regulatory and governance requirements, and align with enterprise cybersecurity standards.This role partners with business, AI governance, cloud, infrastructure, application, and cybersecurity teams to enable secure AI adoption while managing emerging AI-related risks.What you'll doDevelop and maintain Enterprise Security AI security technology roadmap, standards, and reference architecturesEstablish AI security design principles, guardrails, and governance requirementsDefine security requirements for enterprise AI technologies, platforms, and AI-enabled solutionsAssess emerging AI technologies and provide security recommendations for enterprise adoptionDesign secure architectures for enterprise AI technologies, platforms, and integrations with business and technology systemsLead architecture reviews and security assessments for AI initiativesEnsure security-by-design principles are embedded throughout the AI development lifecycleIdentify and assess AI-specific risks, including prompt injection, data poisoning, model manipulation, unauthorized model access, sensitive data exposure, agent misuse, privilege escalation, and supply chain risksDevelop compensating controls and mitigation strategies to reduce AI-related security riskSupport AI threat modeling and secure design reviewsCollaborate with AI Governance, Legal, Privacy, Risk, and Compliance teams to align AI security requirements with enterprise obligationsEnsure AI solutions align with applicable security, risk management, regulatory, industry, and internal policy requirementsDefine AI security control requirements and governance processesProvide security architecture guidance for AI workloads deployed across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environmentsDefine requirements for identity and access management, data protection, logging and monitoring, model security, secrets management, and infrastructure securitySupport the secure deployment and operation of enterprise AI platformsDevelop detection and response capabilities for AI-related threatsPartner with Security Operations, Threat Intelligence, and Incident Response teams to monitor and respond to AI-related risksIdentify opportunities to use AI to strengthen cybersecurity operationsServe as the primary subject matter expert for AI securityProvide technical leadership and mentorship to architects, engineers, and analystsCommunicate AI security risks, recommendations, and architectural decisions to senior leadershipInfluence enterprise AI investments and architectural decisions to support secure adoptionMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, or cloud security3+ years of experience securing AI, machine learning, data science, or advanced analytics platformsPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated experience developing enterprise security architecturesStrong understanding of AI/ML technologies, LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, cloud security architectures, identity and access management, threat modeling, and risk managementExperience with enterprise cloud platforms, including AWS and AzureRelevant cybersecurity, cloud security, enterprise architecture, and AI security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or equivalentExperience securing enterprise AI platforms, AI-enabled applications, autonomous AI systems, and advanced AI architecturesExperience in critical infrastructure, energy, or other regulated industriesTo remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. #LI-HybridAbout our businessWe are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
