Travel Physical Therapist (PT) - Rensselaer, Indiana Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist for a 13‑week travel assignment in Rensselaer, Indiana. This role requires a valid state license, current BLS certification, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, safe patient care. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in physical therapy. New graduate experience is welcomed. Additional certifications or licenses may be required. Summary The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Working in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, the therapist creates personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans that promote patient recovery and independence. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve patient mobility and reduce pain. Operate specialized physical therapy equipment and modalities safely and effectively. Assess patient progress, adjust plans, and accurately document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, and injury prevention. Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control protocols and safety guidelines. Participate in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in written and spoken English. Ability to follow verbal instructions and use PC skills. Physical abilities: remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend. Interpersonal skills: work effectively with varied personnel, maintain a positive attitude. Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, assistance with procedures, using equipment. Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration to detail.
