EOEEmployment at LSPR guarantees the opportunity to learn communication and organizational skills, professionalism, and civic responsibility while building outstanding personal and work relationships.The Park Operations Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of all Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation parks and facilities including, but not limited to, the landscaping and care of turf, trees, shrubs, and irrigation systems. This excludes the turf at the ball fields at Legacy Park. A complete list of benefits can be found at Scope:The position will assist in budget preparation, bid and purchase materials, directly supervise and participate in the performance evaluation process for full and part-time personnel involved in the work and maintenance of the parks and facilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Directs, oversees, and performs landscaping and maintenance of grounds and facilities, including, but not limited to installation, maintenance and upkeep, structure maintenance, playground repairs; effectively disseminates workload to staff.2. Develops, oversees and implements park maintenance plans and schedules.3. Develops and oversees trail and playground inspection plans and schedules.4. Maintains department equipment and inventory with necessary records.5. Maintains section inventory and purchases and procures supplies as needed.6. Operates maintenance and construction equipment.7. Assists in the bidding of equipment and materials for the division.8. Supervises and directs work of staff assigned to maintenance of parks and facilities and ensuresquality control, communicating with upper management when needed.9. Develop and administer performance evaluations to direct reporting staff.10. Supports other Divisions in coordinating direct reports and assisting in preparation, set up, executionand cleanup of special events and activities.11. Ensures the enforcement of park and recreation rules and regulations.12. Prepares written reports and provides presentations as needed.13. Conducts periodic inspections of parks and facilities and plans for repairs, maintenance, or other improvements as necessary.14. Assists in budget preparation for operations division as assigned.15. Assists in the bidding of equipment and materials for the division and coordinates with contractors.16. Performs project tracking functions as assigned.17. Participates in professional organizations.18. Contacts patrons and resolves issues.19. May assist with Cemetery operations as assigned.The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Serves as a member of the Park Visit Team as assigned. Serves as a staff member for special events as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with specialization in turf and athletic field maintenance, horticulture or related field required; at the discretion of the Department, directly related work experience may be substituted for education at the rate of three (3) years directly related work experience per one year of education; andMinimum three (3) years’ direct experience in park maintenance required; Valid State driver’s license required; and, Certified Playground Safety Inspector required; and Basic first aid, AED and CPR certification required within three (3) months of hire. #J-18808-Ljbffr Lee
