Location: Elkhart, Indiana
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite
Salary: $60,000-$70,000
Position Summary
We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to support a manufacturing facility in Elkhart, Indiana. This role will be responsible for maintaining a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements, identifying workplace hazards, and developing and implementing effective safety training programs.


The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of manufacturing safety experience , strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, and the ability to work directly with employees and leadership to improve safety performance and reduce workplace incidents.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs in accordance with OSHA and company requirements.
  
  
• Conduct regular facility inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  
  
• Develop and deliver employee safety training programs , including new-hire orientation and ongoing safety education.
  
  
• Maintain accurate safety records, incident reports, training documentation, and compliance records.
  
  
• Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses and develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  
  
• Partner with production and operations leadership to promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with established procedures.
  
  
• Monitor OSHA compliance and assist with required reporting and documentation.
  
  
• Coordinate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other employee safety initiatives.
  
  
• Assist with emergency preparedness, safety drills, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  
• Track safety metrics and trends and provide recommendations to leadership to improve overall plant safety performance.
  
  
• Stay current on OSHA regulations and industry best practices and communicate applicable changes to management.
  
  
• Support the development and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and programs throughout the facility.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of safety experience within a manufacturing environment
  
  
• OSHA certification/training required
  
  
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements
  
  
• Proven ability to develop and implement safety training programs
  
  
• Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations
  
  
• Strong understanding of hazard identification and corrective action processes
  
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
  
• Ability to effectively train and engage employees at all levels of the organization
  
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  
  
• Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with operations and leadership
  
  
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or related field preferred

The ideal candidate is a hands-on safety professional who is comfortable spending time on the manufacturing floor, interacting with employees, identifying risks, and taking ownership of safety initiatives. This person should be an effective communicator who can turn OSHA requirements into practical training and procedures that employees can understand and follow.
