About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical care. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: Proficient in Med/Surg care. Experience with Rapid Response and Code teams. Skilled in peripheral line care and management. Familiar with nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management. Knowledge of oxygen administration, tanks, and isolation precautions. Description: The position requires a registered nurse specializing in medical surgical care. The shift consists of four 12-hour days, typically from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. Charting experience in the specified electronic medical record system is required. Nurses may be required to work every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a scheduling block. Nurses must work at least one holiday during the contract period. Charge experience is preferred, and the nurse may need to float within their skill set. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 6:1 for days and nights. The unit cares for adult patients with various conditions including elective back surgeries, trauma, cancer, gallbladders, and cellulitis. The facility is a private, not-for-profit, general acute care teaching hospital with various accreditations. Interdisciplinary support includes teams for IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Candidates must have experience with the required clinical skills. Travelers are welcomed to apply, including those who may have previously worked in the facility. Compliance documentation will be required prior to the start of the assignment.
