Low voltage Wiring Technician

$26 - $30 per hour

As a Low-voltage Wiring Technician at Structured Cable of Virginia, you will be an essential part of our mission to provide top-tier security, surveillance, and home entertainment solutions for our residential and commercial clients. Your experience, talents and expertise will ensure that our customers’ needs are met with utmost precision and dedication. Key job requirements Must: Installation and Wiring: Pull new wires through residential and commercial properties, both before and after drywall installation, ensuring a seamless cabling infrastructure. Install and test security equipment such as door and window contacts, motion and smoke detectors, cameras (both wireless and hardwired) to enhance the security of residential and commercial properties Splicing and Termination: Must be able to splice, terminate, and test various low-voltage data cables Cabling Infrastructure Setup: Drill holes as necessary, install switches, distribution panels, and wall plates to create a well-structured cabling system that promotes clean and organized cable management Wiring Schematics: Read and interpret wiring schematics to guide the installation and troubleshooting processes effectively Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with leadership and sales team to generate ideas and provide insight to improve operations Access Control Expertise: Have experience in Access Control system installation Troubleshooting and Repair: Utilize your expertise to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair security systems and equipment, ensuring the continued safety and functionality of the systems in place TV/Electronic Component Installation: Have experience in installing the following, but limited to, A/V systems, in-wall/ceiling speakers, A/V racks, and wireless network setup and management Qualification requirements High school diploma or GED certificate DCJS certification Strong knowledge of safe low voltage wiring practices Good problem-solving skills Physical ability to stand, crouch, and lift objects of at least 50 lbs., able to climb ladder, work in heights and have good manual dexterity during an 8-hour shift Strong verbal and written communication skills Driver's license in good standing Consent to conduct criminal background checks upon hiring (applicable to those who don’t have a DCJS) Benefits Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision and dental insurance, paid days off, and more Opportunity to be part of a growing, employee-owned organization (employee stock) Career and skill development opportunities Salary: $26-30/hr depending on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
