Parts Manager
To oversee all personnel and responsibilities assigned to the parts department including sales, inventory, marketing, training and goals set forth by the Store Manager
1. Manage inventory by forecasting/maintaining proper stock order levels and building returns
2. Develop yearly goals for sales, revenue and efficiency
3. Work with marketing to develop and implement a marketing plan focusing on specific parts promotional activities and advertising to support sales and goals
4. Monitor and review monthly parts sales reports
5. Conduct annual physical inventory
6. Assist with counter sales when necessary
7. Recruit, train, and provide direction to parts personnel to support parts sales growth and customer service requirements in coordination with Parts Division Manager
8. Hold regular meetings with Parts Division Manager and Operations Manager to review sales, expectations and issues
9. Constantly review your stores absorption rate, order efficiency, turn rate and first pass at counter reports
10. Understand margin vs. profit in a competitive environment
11. Maintain highest level of certification set forth by the manufacture. Address inefficiencies in a timely manner
12. Make sure all parts counterpersons meet criteria set forth by the manufacturer and stay in good standing. Schedule training as necessary
13. Schedule parts personnel for additional hours during peak seasons
14. Oversee maintenance and design of showroom/inventory displays
15. Monitor and control costs of usable items in the parts department (i.e. shelving, cleaning supplies, etc.)
16. Perform semi annual reviews with parts personnel setting appropriate expectations and goals to improve sales and service
17. Maintain professional appearance in all parts personnel uniforms, counter space, and overall cleanliness in parts department
18. Inform sales and service about opportunities or concerns from customers
19. Any other task assigned by the Store Manager
Leadership and development of assigned staff
Proven knowledge of OEM and aftermarket parts suppliers
Successfully manage Inventory, budget, and profit margin
Team oriented with positive attitude and desire to provide excellent customer service
Valid Driver's License
This position directly supervises all Parts Counter people employed by the store.
This job operates in primarily in an office and rare delivery to a field environment including exposure to varied weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with some evenings and weekends as necessary.
