Medical Billing Records SpecialistTampa, Florida, United StatesThe Medical Billing Records Specialist is responsible for maintaining patient files and statistics along with responding to requests for medical records. This position reports to the Accounts Receivable Manager. We offer a supportive culture that is driven by deep commitment to the success of our patients and our teams.This role is full-time onsite at the corporate office in Tampa, FL.Responsibilities:Maintains patient files on electronic medical record applicationResponds to written or telephonic requests for medical records in a timely mannerResponds to subpoenas according to operational standardsRetrieve patient information as directedMaintain patient confidentiality by adhering to professional standards, UVVC policies and procedures, and federal and state requirementsCommunicate problems or irregularities according to established proceduresServe as back-up to patient collections to cover lunch breaks and/or absencesDemonstrate and promote a work culture committed to UVVC's Core Values: Understanding, Nurturing, Ingenuity, Trust, Excellence, and DiversityDemonstrate behaviors that are consistent with UVVC's Standards of Conduct as outlined in our Employee HandbookMaintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other applicable laws and regulations.
