Skills checklist current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty.Description: An ER nurse's primary responsibility is to identify medical issues and determine severity. They provide immediate support to minimize negative long-term effects and sustain life when necessary. An ER nurse is one of the first responders when a patient is admitted to the emergency room. The position entails working 6 nights in 6 weeks.
