Job Description
Our organization is seeking to welcome a Primary Care Physician to our team at the Oceanside Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).
The CBOC functions under a Patient Aligned Care Team Model. The role involves delivering primary care services in a collaborative environment, focusing on chronic disease management and preventive health care. Typical conditions treated include diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, and chronic pain.
The physician will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and consulting with non-surgical adult patients across all age groups, addressing a diverse range of diseases, injuries, and disorders that are not life-threatening. The physician will also assess, stabilize, and determine the appropriate course of action for patients presenting with urgent conditions, in accordance with medical staff policies regarding emergency and consultative services. Collaboration with mid-level providers, such as nurse practitioners, is expected, as well as working alongside various specialties (and subspecialties) both within and outside the VA system to effectively manage or co-manage patient health. Select mental health and subspecialty services are available on-site, while additional medical and surgical subspecialty services can be accessed through consultations with the San Diego VA Health Care System or the community.
