Lead Molecular Pathology Technician
Overview Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Summary: The Lead Molecular Pathology Technician performs histopathology and molecular tissue assays in support of research studies evaluating disease pathology and therapeutic efficacy. Provides senior-level technical support in molecular pathology including tissue processing, histology, and molecular diagnostics for infectious disease research Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:
- Perform tissue trimming, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
- Conduct in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry.
- Maintain accurate tissue logs and digital records.
- Support necropsy operations and BSL-3/4 containment procedures.
- Train junior technicians and maintain lab instrumentation.
Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong experience with histological and molecular staining.
- Familiarity with digital pathology platforms.
- Ability to follow biosafety and necropsy protocols.
- Meticulous attention to quality and labeling.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or histotechnology.
- Minimum 5+ years in histology or pathology labs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required.
- Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACTIVE SECRET is preferred
- HT/HTL (ASCP) certification preferred.
Pay and Benefits The salary range for this position is $38.00 to $43.00 hourly. At Goldbelt, we value and reward our team's dedication and hard work.
