Estimator - Bridge/Structural

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Bridge / Structural Estimator to support the pursuit and delivery of heavy highway and bridge construction projects in the Kansas City Area . This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for complex structural work, collaborating closely with operations, engineering, and leadership teams.


The ideal candidate has a strong background in bridge and structural estimating , understands DOT project requirements, and is comfortable working on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for bridge and structural components, including concrete, steel, formwork, and earthwork
  
  
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to assess scope, risks, and constructability
  
  
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  
  
• Coordinate with project management, field operations, and engineering during bid preparation
  
  
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes and assist in bid leveling
  
  
• Participate in bid reviews, value engineering, and cost-risk analysis
  
  
• Support handoff of successful bids to project teams
  
  

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience estimating bridge and structural heavy civil projects
  
  
• Strong understanding of DOT standards, specifications, and bid processes
  
  
• Experience with concrete and steel bridge structures preferred
  
  
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
  
  
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
  
  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
