Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

Location: Essex, VT

A health care organization in Northern Vermont is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join its hospital laboratory team on a full-time basis.

Position Highlights

Responsibilities
Perform routine and high-complexity diagnostic testing across multiple laboratory sections
Process and evaluate specimens in accordance with established procedures
Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and systems
Perform quality control, maintenance, and regulatory compliance activities
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of patient results
Support workflow across departments during varying workload demands
Participate in training and support of new staff and students when needed

Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field
Eligibility for or possession of a Vermont Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
MLS certification required within 6 months of hire (ASCP preferred)
Hospital laboratory experience preferred
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-complexity environment
Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
