Wash/ Disinfect Operator - Wadena, MN - Jennie-O

Full Time – Hourly At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package. The base hiring pay for this role is $20.30 per hour. * Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa.

• Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)

Job Responsibilities * To wash and disinfect turkey production facilities in a safe and organized manner, ensuring that all company policies are followed

• Assist all support areas of breeder production
• Work occasional weekends washing unless otherwise instructed
• Perform repairs, maintenance on equipment, and construction on projects as

assigned by supervisor

• Follow sanitation and isolation procedures using tracking patterns
• Follow safety policies and procedures as recommended
• Communicate with supervisor on a regular basis to receive work orders as

needed

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Assist on vaccinations and insemination occasionally when not washing

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic math skills/able to read and write at 4th grade level
• Able to work scheduled weekends and holidays
• Supply reliable transportation for travel to work sites and meet all

sanitation requirements * Cannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, etc.) * Able to work in a smoke free environment/Must be 21 yrs. old and able to obtain a Medical Card * Must possess a valid driver's license & able to meet JOTS driving qualifications * PHYSICAL: Work in a dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions while using approved respiratory protection

• Facial hair must not compromise respirator face to mask seal-no beards
• Twisting/stooping/bending/squat/reach while handling

turkeys/fee/letter/equipment 10 lbs. to 50 lbs. from occasionally to a frequent basis * Able to work on uneven surfaces Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous animal husbandry experience and/or a farm background (two years)
• Bobcat tractor experience
• Able to use and operate high pressure washer
• Small engine/pump repair experience
• Able to operate a scissor lift
