Trusts & Estates Attorney – Estate Planning & Administration

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Compensation: Competitive base + bonus (based on experience + book of business)

Portable Book: Preferred (~30%+)

About the Opportunity

A well-established and highly regarded law firm is seeking a Trusts & Estates Attorney to join its Grand Rapids office. This role is designed to support a strong existing team while also offering the opportunity to grow and develop a personal book of business.

The ideal candidate will have experience in estate planning, trust administration, and related matters , and be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a client-focused environment.

What You’ll Do

● Draft and implement estate plans, including wills, trusts, and related documents

● Advise clients on estate, tax, and wealth transfer strategies

● Handle trust and estate administration matters from start to finish

● Work closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners

● Collaborate with internal attorneys on complex planning strategies

● Maintain and grow client relationships

● Support and expand an existing book of business

What You Bring

● 4–7 years of experience in trusts & estates / estate planning

● Strong drafting experience with wills, trusts, and estate documents

● Experience with estate and trust administration

● Michigan Bar admission (or ability to obtain)

● Portable book of business preferred (~30%+)

● Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills

● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
