Clearance Requirement: Final onboarding is strictly contingent upon passing a comprehensive state public safety, fingerprint-based background check, and CJIS compliance.

About the Role

We are seeking an elite, hands-on Senior Cloud Engineer to join a mission-critical Public Safety Solutions Management team. This role is focused on designing, developing, implementing, and supporting complex, cloud-native solutions across both Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical execution in cloud infrastructure engineering, application modernization, and DevOps-enabled delivery. In addition to core infrastructure and cloud development, this role will actively support applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) solution patterns, including GPT model integration, prompt engineering, and production enterprise GenAI use cases such as semantic search and intelligent chatbots.

Note: This position requires direct, personal engineering experience on production workloads. General team participation or purely theoretical knowledge will not be sufficient.

Core Responsibilities

• Dual-Cloud Architecture & Engineering: Design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures spanning both Azure and AWS enterprise environments.

• Cloud-Native Development: Develop and maintain cloud-native applications, containerized services, and robust APIs utilizing.NET/.NET Core, C#, and Python.

• Infrastructure as Code & DevOps: Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure and platform services. Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub, Artifactory, and NuGet.

• Containerization & Orchestration: Manage production-grade container workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, Azure AKS, and Azure Container Apps.

• Generative AI Engineering: Implement GPT-enabled solution capabilities, managing prompt engineering, enterprise intelligent chatbots, document summarization patterns, and semantic search configurations.

• FinOps & Compliance: Optimize token usage, manage cloud costs, ensure strict content filtering, and enforce performance/compliance boundaries for AI systems within highly regulated public safety contexts.

• Networking & Security: Configure and support critical networking components including DNS, Active Directory, Firewalls, Load Balancers, ExpressRoute, and VPN Gateways.

Required Technical Qualifications

• Total Experience: Minimum 7+ years of dedicated professional experience as a Cloud or Software Engineer.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a highly related technical discipline.

• Dual-Cloud Expertise:

  • 5+ years Azure Experience: Deep familiarity with App Service, Service Bus, API Management, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure SQL (Managed Instances), Blob/File/Table Storage, VNETs, and NSGs.

  • 5+ years AWS Experience: Proven hands-on delivery using EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, and RDS.

• Cloud-Native Development: 4+ years of hands-on application development and architecture integration.

• Programming Languages: 4+ years of rigorous development using.NET/.NET Core (C#) AND Python.

• DevOps Practice: 3+ years managing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools.

• Generative AI Engineering: Minimum 1+ year of production-level experience with AI model integration, prompt engineering, and building chatbot or semantic search workflows.

Highly Desired Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Fundamentals
