Risk Management Coordinator

Job Summary The Risk Management Coordinator is responsible for identification, investigation, analysis and evaluation of risks and the selection of the most advantageous method of correcting, reducing, or eliminating identifiable risk. The Coordinator has general knowledge of facility insurance programs, manages claims against the facility, interfaces with defense counsel, conducts risk management educational programs, and complies with risk‑management related standards (e.g., Joint Commission and other accrediting and regulatory agencies) to enhance patient safety and quality care. The role requires thorough knowledge of hospital office procedures, departmental/hospital policies and procedures, frequent interactive contact with department directors, medical staff, employees, patients, families, and outside professionals, and the ability to communicate legal, medical and business subjects with tact and diplomacy.
