Starting pay range: $18.3028 - $20.0697 per hour

Position Status: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 4:00 pm - 12:30 am


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sweeps mops scrubs strips and waxes floors.
• Dusts and cleans county offices and public areas; vacuumsand shampoos carpets as needed; polishes furniture and washes windows; emptieswaste receptacles and replaces liners.
• Cleans sanitizes deodorizes and disinfects restrooms showersmorgue resident rooms and examination rooms; empties trash receptacles andreplaces liners; replenishes supplies in dispensers.
• Assists in moving office and building furniture andequipment; prepares rooms for meetings assists at meetings upon request andapproval by supervisor; ensures the security of the building or work area afternormal work hours.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks in replacing light bulbsand unstopping lavatories.
• Performs limited ground maintenance tasks; patrols groundsand removes hazardous objects; picks up paper cans bottles and other debris andplaces in proper containers.
• Performs related work as required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of materials methods and practices used incleaning operations.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation or possession of a GED certificate;and some experience (0-1 year) operating vacuum and floor treatment equipmentand tools used in the care and cleaning of buildings and facilities; or anyequivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the abovenoted knowledge skills and abilities.


Following an initial job offer potential employees will besubject to a thorough background check and must pass a drug test.

Physical Attributes/Demands

Position requires the ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbsand includes bending stooping squatting reaching kneeling and standing for longperiods of time. The use of standard cleaning chemicals and equipment will beperformed during each shift.

Work Environment

The work is performed primarily indoors in an assigned areaof a county building or facility. Occasionally the work is performedoutdoors on grounds surrounding assigned work area and exposes employee toinclement weather. Work exposes employee to potential chemical hazardswhen using cleaning sanitizing and disinfecting chemicals; potential biologicalhazards such as blood body fluids and dirty needles when cleaning the morguenursing or clinic areas; and potential physical hazards such as dust fumes.Work requires the use of safety clothing and equipment and compliance withsafety rules and procedures.
