Dietitian Full Time First Shift

Located in a tight-knit community in Kings County, Adventist Health Hanford has been serving the Central Valley since 1965. The facility is a 173‑bed hospital with outpatient clinics offering primary and specialty care. Job Summary Provides comprehensive nutritional care to patients and residents identified with special needs and/or those who meet nutritional risk criteria. Conducts patient assessment and reassessment, provides patient and family education, engages in interdisciplinary communication, develops nutritional plan of care, and documents all interventions in accordance with policy and acceptable practice standards. Responsibilities Conduct assessments to determine patients at nutritional risk. Provide quality nutritional care through nutrition plans, facilitate appropriate meal patterns, monitor intake, initiate interventions, and provide education. Evaluate patient response to the plan of care and adjust interventions as necessary. Set patient care priorities and assign personnel for effective utilization of skills. Administer medical nutrition therapy safely and accurately, monitoring and documenting patient response. Act as an educational resource for health‑care team personnel, patients, family members and the community. Orient and instruct new professionals, registered and assistive personnel on job duties and clinical activities. Provide learning opportunities to meet nutrition education needs of patients, families, and significant others. Collect and assess direct data on patients’ nutritional condition and supervise indirect data collection. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition or equivalent. Experience as a Clinical Dietitian. Completed dietetic internship or its equivalent. Registered Dietitian (RD) within 6 months of completion of residency program.
