Phoenixville Area School District | Phoenixville, PA

Phoenixville Area School District is seeking a knowledgeable, service-oriented Network Manager to support and strengthen the district's technology infrastructure. This role is responsible for helping to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable network operations across the district, including wired and wireless systems, core infrastructure services, and network security in a Cisco environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a commitment to supporting teaching, learning, and district operations through dependable technology systems.

Status: Full-time, 12-month position | Exempt

Reports to: Director of Technology

Compensation: $85,000+, commensurate with experience

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise network and/or server infrastructure administration
  • Experience supporting LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLAN, switching, routing, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure in a multi-site environment
  • Experience with network security practices, monitoring, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery planning
  • Strong written, verbal, and customer service skills
  • Current Act 34, Act 151, and FBI Fingerprint clearances required at time of hire
  • Preferred certifications include Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, VMware, Microsoft, or similar credentials
  • Experience in a K-12 educational environment is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, maintain, and evaluate the district's wired and wireless network infrastructure to support secure, reliable, and scalable operations
  • Configure, manage, and support switches, routers, firewalls, wireless systems, filtering systems, Cisco Unified Communications phone system and related network appliances
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, respond to outages, and communicate status updates as needed
  • Maintain infrastructure security practices, including access controls, firewall policies, secure configuration standards, and related monitoring
  • Support core infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, authentication systems, and directory services
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, inventories, configuration backups, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for installation, support, warranty service, and contracted services
  • Prepare reports on network utilization, issues, downtime, performance trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Participate in infrastructure planning, lifecycle management, and technology improvement initiatives aligned with district goals
  • Provide high-quality customer service and collaborate effectively with district staff and departments
  • Respond to technology emergencies outside normal work hours when required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology
