Summary

This position is eligible for a Sign-On Bonus, as advertised, based on applicant eligibility.

Schedule flexibility required to participate in meetings/trainings on the day shift. Schedule could be changed to three 12 hour 7:00pm to 7:00am shifts, plus one 4 additional hour shift.-Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of the ongoing competency of clinical staff.

Responsibilities

Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.

Supports an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.

Serves as a consultant/mentor/change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.

Participates in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives.

Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance on assigned unit(s).

May perform clinical patient care when needed.

Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).

Collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.

Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s).

Additional Job Information

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Work Experience: Three (3) years nursing experience. Candidates for Clinical Nurse Educator RN Fellowship positions may apply after completion of two (2) years' nursing experience.

Other Information: Department Specific: JDC- Hematology/Oncology: APHON Provider and PALS required.
