Eating Disorder Nurse

Dominion Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a compassionate Eating Disorder Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients of all ages experiencing eating disorders in an inpatient mental health setting. You will complete thorough nursing assessments, monitor medical and psychiatric status, administer medications, and coordinate individualized care plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, dietitians, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Drawing on evidence-based practices in both medical and behavioral health, you will oversee vital signs, labs, and nutritional status, support meal and snack supervision, monitor for refeeding complications, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. You will use therapeutic communication and de-escalation skills to support patients through body image distress, anxiety, and co-occurring mental health conditions, while maintaining strict safety standards, including observation levels and suicide/self-harm precautions. As part of Dominion Hospital’s supportive, patient-centered culture, you will participate in treatment team meetings, contribute to care planning and discharge planning, educate patients and families about eating disorders and recovery, and document all care accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record. You will precept and mentor new staff as needed, engage in continuous professional development, and uphold all hospital, regulatory, and ethical standards.
