RN - Progressive Intensive Care Unit


Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our partner's Progressive Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Seattle, WA. This is an exceptional opportunity for a compassionate and skilled nurse to provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients. We are offering a hiring bonus of up to $10,000 for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment.


Position Overview


As an RN in the PICU, you will be a vital member of a multidisciplinary team, providing expert, round-the-clock care for pediatric patients with a wide range of critical illnesses. Your role is central to managing complex medical equipment, administering advanced therapies, and providing a high level of support to both the patient and their family. This full-time position requires a professional with a strong clinical background and a deep commitment to pediatric critical care.


Responsibilities

• Provide direct, specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in a progressive care setting.
• Monitor, record, and interpret vital signs and physiological data to assess patient conditions.
• Administer medications, blood products, and other therapies as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
• Educate and provide emotional support to patients' families, helping them understand and cope with the medical situation.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications:
  
  
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • A Washington Registered Nurse License is required upon hire.
  • A National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
  • A National Provider PALS from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
  • A minimum of 1 year of PICU Nursing experience is required.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  
  • National Certification in your area of specialty.
