The core mission of the Receiving Material Handler is to facilitate the efficient and accurate receipt and storage of the materials used in the manufacturing processes. The Receiving Material Handler is an integral part of the production team and is required to have comprehensive knowledge about the material and understand the manufacturing workflow.Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintain a calendar of incoming materials and developing plans for the off-loading of materialsAccurately fulfill department requisitions and deliver parts throughout factoryResponsible for material inspectionsReview purchase ordersEnsure proper documentation of materials is completeAccurately follow material control proceduresEffectively communicate with procurement staff, supervisors, and relevant production staff regarding material deliveriesResponsible for material inventory and material storageMeet critical deadlines and schedulesFollow safety guidelines and procedures at all timesPerform general site clean-up and preparation tasksMove materials safely and effectively through the factory with the required equipmentRequirementsHigh school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree2+ years of experience operating a forkliftPrevious construction, warehouse, or manufacturing experienceStrong organization skills and the ability to track, retain and integrate informationAbility to confidently interface with all levels of company organizationFluent in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook and AdobeExcellent written communications, using correct grammar and spellingQualificationsPrevious shipping and/or receiving experience is a plusPhysical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment.
