8-hr Custodian - West High3:15 pm - 11:45 pm Internal bids thru 7/6/26 @ 4:00 PM. External applicants (we will hire externally if no successful internal bidder): Open until filled. New hire: Entry level rate $18.17/hr. Current employees with seniority in the bargaining unit, please refer to the salary schedule established by the bargaining unit.Duties & Responsibilities:Clean/sanitize desk/table tops, door handles, restroom fixturesCleans glassDusts horizontal surfaces, clocks, overhead screens, and blindsWet mopping of floors, spot cleaning of carpets and hard flooringAssists with deep cleaning during break periods stripping, scrub & recoat, carpet extraction, cleaning restrooms, glass, and furnitureTrash removalRemoves snowMinor grounds keepingLawn mowingAssists with delivery of suppliesProperly maintains equipmentReports maintenance issues to Head and Lead custodiansPerforms other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements of Position:Ability to lift & carry up to 56 lb.Ability to climb up to an 8-ft ladder and perform custodial task ie; cleaning light fixture.Ability to climb steps and work on uneven groundIn addition to these specific qualifications this person must meet all the general qualifications as listed in the custodian job description of the Davenport Community School District.Special Qualification Desired:Ability to work as a successful member of a teamAbility to be flexible and have a positive work ethicAbility to follow both written and oral instructionsAbility to perform multiple tasks on a scheduleMust have a high school degree or GEDThe Davenport Community School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
