Medical Laboratory Scientist – Clinical Laboratory Providence Health and Services, Apple Valley, CA – 3 days ago Position Overview Medical Laboratory Scientist at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA. This position is per‑diem and will work 8‑hour variable shifts. Responsibilities The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high‑complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. CLS personnel perform pre‑analytical, analytical and post‑analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They work with acute‑care and outpatient caregivers and other Laboratory Services staff. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree 16 semesters or equivalent quarter units of chemistry, including clinical chemistry or analytical chemistry 18 semesters or equivalent quarter units of biology, including hematology, immunology, medical microbiology 3 semesters or equivalent quarter units of physics (light and electricity) California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (upon hire) 1‑year internship (prerequisite for State Exam) Preferred Qualifications 2 years Clinical Lab experience in a hospital setting.
