Corporate Ethics & Compliance Investigator Work Setting: Flexible – Remote, Hybrid, Field or Office schedules may be available Employment Type: Full-time Industry: Healthcare / Managed Care Function: Corporate Compliance / Ethics / Investigations Salary: $107,700–$199,300 per year About the Role A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Corporate Ethics & Compliance Investigator to lead complex, sensitive and high-impact internal investigations across the organization. The role serves as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor on investigative practices, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation, working closely with management, legal counsel, compliance leadership and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead complex and confidential internal investigations from initial assessment through resolution. Evaluate allegations involving potential violations of laws, regulations, internal policies and ethical standards. Develop investigation strategies, preserve evidence, conduct interviews and analyze records. Perform root cause analysis and recommend appropriate corrective or disciplinary actions. Manage and document witness interviews and review investigation work completed by junior investigators. Identify compliance and operational risks and recommend measures to mitigate future exposure. Follow up on remediation and disciplinary actions to ensure they are implemented appropriately and on time. Maintain detailed case files, investigation chronologies and supporting documentation in accordance with best practices. Prepare clear investigation plans, reports and recommendations. Advise management, HR, legal and compliance stakeholders on complex investigative matters. Participate in and lead meetings with business leaders and functional stakeholders. Communicate directly with federal and state regulators when required. Support the development and maintenance of corporate compliance policies, procedures and workflows. Lead or participate in special projects involving auditing, training and HIPAA compliance. Provide guidance and support to junior investigation staff and other associates. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law, Healthcare Administration, Health Policy or a related field, or equivalent experience. 7+ years of progressive experience conducting and managing complex investigations, auditing or risk analysis. 7+ years of experience interpreting state and federal laws, rules and regulations. Strong knowledge of investigative methodologies, compliance requirements and risk mitigation. Excellent judgment, discretion and analytical problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple complex investigations and projects simultaneously. Ability to work effectively with senior leadership, legal counsel, compliance teams and business stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD).
