Diesel Mechanic - 3rd Shift

Diesel Mechanic Immediate hire for multiple Diesel Mechanics at Portage, IN. You will maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles and related equipment. Excellent customer service skills are required. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment within specified Service Repair Times (SRT). Follow established maintenance procedures and guidelines. Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times. Maintain, inspect, grade, change, and repair commercial vehicle tires. Qualifications High school or GED. Specialized schooling and/or on‑job education in a specific skill area. 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training. 1 to 6 months related management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Requirements Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, or hear; and climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Close vision required. Work in a shop environment with noise, intermittent standing, walking, occasional pushing, carrying, and exposure to outside weather elements. Benefits Starting Pay (depends on skill level): A+ Level Technician: $33.50–$36.00 per hour A Level Technician: $31.50–$33.50 per hour B Level Technician: $28.50–$31.50 per hour C Level Technician: $25.00–$27.50 per hour
