Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active compact license required Certifications: ACLS AWHONN Intermediate BLS FHM NRP Must-Have: Experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Normal Newborn Care Floating required as needed Skills in circulating for C-sections, IV starts, and administration of blood and blood products Description: All previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel position. Active compact licenses are honored. 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care is required. Float between departments as needed. Patient diagnoses include Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn. Special procedures involve vaginal delivery and cesarean delivery, circulating in the OR, starting adult IVs, and administration of blood and blood products. Experience with drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, insulin, and magnesium sulfate is necessary. Familiarity with special equipment for high-risk antepartum, high-risk Labor and Delivery, Low-risk antepartum, and post-operative care is required. Interdisciplinary support is essential for effective patient care. Candidates must be able to maintain patient ratios and follow established protocols. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Providers will need to perform duties as assigned without any additional costs incurred. Ensuring the ability to complete required compliance processes prior to the start is essential. Maintaining communication regarding scheduling and availability is crucial during the application process. References covering the last three years of experience are necessary.
