Job Description
Job Title: Hospice Registered Nurse

Must-Have: Experience working in a unionized healthcare environment


Description:
This position primarily involves providing nursing care to terminally ill patients.
Focus is on comfort and symptom management.
Responsibilities include administering medications and interventions per physician orders.
Continuous assessment of patient needs is essential to ensure a dignified and comfortable end-of-life experience.
Provide guidance and oversight to non-unionized Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to ensure quality personal care.
Delegate appropriate nursing support tasks including activities of daily living, hygiene, and mobility while ensuring safety and compassion.
Monitor CNA documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Offer real-time feedback and mentorship in a respectful, team-oriented environment.
Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds.
Contribute to care planning, symptom management strategies, and family education.
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals for holistic patient care.
Provide emotional support, guidance, and education to families and caregivers.
Assist families in navigating the physical and emotional challenges of end-of-life care.
Ensure accurate documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and communications.
All care must align with regulatory and quality standards.
Follow infection control procedures and maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
