Infectious Disease Physician

Pediatric Infectious Diseases (PIDs) Subspecialty Faculty Temple, Texas BSW McLane Children’s Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, seeks a full‑time or part‑time BC/BE, fellowship‑trained Pediatric Infectious Diseases subspecialist for a clinical and teaching role. The position involves direct consultation and follow‑up care in inpatient and outpatient settings, including telemedicine clinics, and teaching residents, fellows, and medical students. Position Information Location: BSW McLane Children’s Medical Center in Temple, Texas – a 112‑bed freestanding children’s hospital with 24‑hour ED, trauma center, 48 private rooms, PICU, NICU, and a multi‑specialty clinic. Consultation coverage: 24‑7 all year; up to 2.05 FTE clinical PIDs consultants covering inpatient floors, PICU, NICU, outpatient consultations, and shared paging. Weekend coverage: at least 17–18 weekends per year. Teaching: educate pediatric residents, neonatology and hospital medicine fellows, medical students, pharmacists, nurses, and physician extenders through bedside teaching, lectures, journal clubs, critical‑thinking rounds, and grand rounds. Research: optional part‑time clinical research and service on departmental/system committees. Employment: full/part‑time clinical role with teaching; clinical academic affiliation through Baylor College of Medicine – Temple Campus.
