Job Title: Registered Nurse - Inpatient Profession: RN Specialty: Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 1st Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience preferred License: Current Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider or an AHA approved equivalent Must-Have: - Clinical competence - Patient care management - Nursing theory - Nursing practice Description: The Registered Nurse is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstrates competency in the delivery of care to a primarily adult population. The Staff RN-Inpatient job description incorporates essential functions adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010). Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice is essential. Completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing is required to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse. Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to the area of employment is necessary.
