Description of Work The NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), in collaboration with its partners, protects the health and safety of all North Carolinians and provides essential human services. DHHS has established a new Division of Child and Family Well-Being that focuses on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians. This division works to ensure that North Carolina's children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities. It will bring together complementary programs from the Divisions of Public Health, Mental Health, and Social Services to maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children's behavioral health services, and early intervention programs. The primary purpose of this position is to provide speech language services to include evaluation and possible treatment services to children and families enrolled in or referred to the NC Infant Toddler Program. The SLP also assists in determining eligibility for the NCITP and serves as a member of the IFSP team, contributing to the development of the child and family’s service plan. Services must be provided in compliance with Federal and State regulations for the Infant Toddler Program. This position will be located at the CDSA of the Cape Fear in the Fayetteville office and serve the surrounding counties (Cumberland Co., Bladen Co., Robeson Co. & Sampson Co). Salary Range: $66,696.00-$110,049.00 Recruitment Range: $66,696.00-$67,866 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred. Experience with the principles, techniques, and methods of speech-language therapy as applicable for children birth to three. Experience administering developmental evaluation measures and assessments through standardized and/or formal testing procedures and behavioral assessments and designing and implementing a treatment program. Demonstrated knowledge of child development and developmental disabilities. Experience working with and collaborating with families, community organizations, and other agencies. Good written and oral communication skills, including experience with report writing, design and implementation of treatment programs, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time independently. Management Preferences: Knowledge of coaching interaction styles and adult learning principles. Experience working with infants, toddlers and their families using research-informed and/or evidence-based practices for the provision of early intervention services. Knowledge and experience related to assessing and treating feeding challenges in young children. Physical Requirements: Light work with some physical lifting. This work also requires the ability to participate in activities developmentally appropriate to the infant or toddler. Traveling to clients’ home is required.
