Position Summary and QualificationsAs the Clinical Coordinator for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), you will work collaboratively with various healthcare professionals to ensure the effective implementation of patient care plans and departmental objectives. You will serve as a professional role model, engaging directly with patients, families, physicians, and staff. Utilizing your advanced assessment skills and diagnostic tools, you will evaluate the nursing care needs of patients. Continuous monitoring of patients' physical, emotional, and social conditions will be essential as you refine care plans to meet both patient and facility goals.
You will create and approve unit schedules in line with staffing guidelines.
You will oversee staff attendance at mandatory educational programs.
You will clarify hospital and personnel policies to physicians, nursing staff, patients, visitors, and other personnel.
You will complete incident reports for patients and staff within 24 hours of any occurrence.
You will coordinate unit operations with other departments within the hospital.
You will maintain accurate staff and patient assignment records at all times.
You will assign staff based on their skills and the acuity of patients.
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of RN experience is required.
Education:
Associate's degree in Nursing.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
Registered Nurse license in Texas.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
