Job Overview

An outpatient surgery center in Bradenton, FL, has an  immediate opening for a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab Scrub Technologist. Due to urgent operational needs, the facility is highly flexible and willing to accommodate candidates looking for per diem, part-time, or near full-time hours (up to 30 hours per week).

The ideal candidate will be a certified RCIS or an exceptionally cross-trained surgical/radiologic technologist capable of independently scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Procedure Scrubbing: Independent scrubbing for diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures utilizing a manifold, as well as peripheral/interventional vascular procedures.

• Access Site Hemostasis: Independently and safely manage access site hemostasis post-procedure. Must be fully proficient in managing various access sites, including single/dual groin sites (arterial and/or venous), brachial, radial, and pedal access.

• Room Setup & Sterile Field: Maintain strict aseptic technique while preparing the cath lab suite, arranging specialized sterile trays, and managing wires, catheters, and sheaths.

• Physician Collaboration: Work cohesively with the interventional cardiologist and the laboratory team to ensure quick turnaround times and seamless outpatient surgical flow.

Requirements

• Certification: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) is highly preferred, OR a highly experienced Surgical/Radiologic Technologist with intensive, verifiable cross-training in a cath lab environment.

• Technical Skill: Proven capability to use a manifold independently during diagnostic runs and extensive experience with interventional vascular technology.

• Hemostasis Expertise: Demonstrated absolute independence in securing manual or device-assisted hemostasis on complex access points (groin, radial, brachial, pedal).

• Availability: Ready to start ASAP. Flexibility to work variable shifts matching the outpatient volume (per diem up to 30 hours).

• Life Support: Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
