Position: Paraprofessional – Day Treatment
Job Type: Flex Time / Part-Time, with opportunity for additional hours as enrollment grows
Schedule: Flexible schedule based on Day Treatment program hours and client needs
Work Setting: In-Person

Position Summary

Navigating Day Treatment Center / Family Advantage LLC is seeking dependable, energetic, and compassionate Paraprofessionals to work with children and adolescents participating in our behavioral health Day Treatment Program.

The Paraprofessional works as part of the multidisciplinary treatment team and provides direct support to children and adolescents under the supervision and direction of qualified clinical/program staff.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working directly with youth and helping children develop positive behavioral, social, emotional, communication, and daily functioning skills.

Primary Responsibilities

The Paraprofessional will:

• Provide direct support and supervision to children and adolescents participating in Day Treatment.

• Assist with structured therapeutic and skill-building activities as directed by qualified staff.

• Help youth practice coping skills, emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, and appropriate social behaviors.

• Reinforce treatment goals and behavioral interventions established by the treatment team.

• Assist with maintaining a safe, structured, therapeutic, and supportive environment.

• Observe client behaviors and report significant changes or concerns to the appropriate QP or Licensed Professional.

• Assist with crisis prevention and de-escalation according to agency policy and training.

• Support clients during transitions and scheduled program activities.

• Participate in staff meetings, treatment-team activities, supervision, and required training as assigned.

• Complete required documentation accurately and within established timeframes.

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients and families.

• Protect client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and Client Rights requirements.

• Follow all agency policies, safety procedures, treatment plans, and instructions provided by supervising clinical staff.

• Immediately report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, safety concerns, and incidents according to agency policy and North Carolina requirements.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet applicable North Carolina Medicaid and Day Treatment requirements for Paraprofessional staff .

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the education, experience, competencies, and training required for their assigned duties and work under the appropriate supervision of qualified program staff.

Experience working with children or adolescents in behavioral health, mental health, residential treatment, schools, foster care, group homes, juvenile services, or related settings is preferred.

Work Environment

This is an in-person, direct-care position working with children and adolescents who may experience significant emotional or behavioral challenges.

The Paraprofessional must be comfortable working in an active treatment environment and following the direction of QPs, Licensed Professionals, and program leadership.
