Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Rehab / Long-Term Care

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, highly motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. In this role, you will work closely with the lead Occupational Therapist to execute comprehensive therapy treatments designed to restore mobility, enhance independence, and improve the overall physical health of our patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in long-term care or sub-acute rehabilitation settings and a genuine passion for guiding patients through successful clinical recoveries.

Position & Contract Details:

• Job Type: Full-Time, Contract
• Clinical Setting: Long-Term Care (LTC) / Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility (On-Site)
• Logistics: Standard operational shifts. Candidates must be submitted at standard facility-approved rates to ensure timely onboarding.
  

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

Experience & Clinical Background:

• Specialty Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of dedicated professional experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant [Required] .
• Clinical Setting: Proven background working within Long-Term Care (LTC) or dedicated inpatient/outpatient Rehabilitation settings [Required] .
• Core Competencies: Strong interpersonal skill set focused on patient encouragement, professional boundary management, and structured motor-skill rehabilitation.
  

Licensure & Certifications:

• State Licensure: Active, valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License in the state of Missouri [Required] .

Key Responsibilities:

• Therapeutic Plan Execution: Administer localized therapeutic interventions, therapeutic exercises, and targeted self-care activities to assist patients in reclaiming physical independence and fine motor control.
• Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Carefully monitor patient engagement and physiological thresholds during sessions, ensuring real-time modifications are communicated smoothly to the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Vocational & Independence Training: Teach injured workers critical motor skills aimed at safely re-entering the workforce, and guide patients with long-term disabilities to master daily living adaptations.
• Caregiver & Family Education: Train family members, clinical caregivers, and support networks on specific safe-handling techniques and home exercise regimens to maintain patient treatment trajectory.
• Clinical Documentation: Meticulously update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) outlining patient progress, goals achieved, and anatomical baselines.
• Environmental Maintenance: Take personal accountability for keeping clinical treatment rooms, specialized therapeutic equipment, and the main office area clean, organized, and structurally safe for patient use.
