Intern - Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer InternGreat Plains Manufacturing, a Kubota Company, is currently taking applications for our 2027 Summer Internship Program. These internships will be on-site in the Salina, KS area.Our Summer Interns work full-time from Mid-May to Early-August and earn $20 per hour. Engineering interns enjoy a 4-day work week with a work schedule of Monday to Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Housing is provided in Salina, KS for interns who currently reside outside the area.Each of our Summer Interns complete a project with a mentor and supportive peers, allowing them to apply their college knowledge in the workplace and gain practical work experience. We also organize activities during the summer to give you the opportunity to get to know other interns and Great Plains employees through casual events like laser tag, paintball, bowling, and community events.Our Electrical Engineer Interns will be assigned to one of our facilities in the Salina, KS area and work on a project in Electrical Engineering as it relates to the design process of agricultural equipment.Required Qualifications:Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Ag Systems or other relevant Engineering majorWillingness to live within commuting distance of the assigned location, typically in the Salina, KS or Abilene, KS area for the duration of the Summer Housing will be provided within a 20-mile radius of your assigned location, if needed.Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week) during the SummerSuccessful completion of a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening test within a week of your first day of employmentProviding, upon your first day of employment, satisfactory proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States, and your completion of an Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to the Salina, KS area and commute to and from work and activities throughout the SummerPreferred Skills and Qualifications:Completed at least 30 credit hours by beginning of internshipSelf-motivated with good project management, organization and planning skillsAbility to communicate plans and information in a concise, effective manner in both verbal and written formsExhibit a willingness to learnCritical thinking skills and a positive approach to solving problemsTeam player mindset and outstanding interpersonal skillsAbility to work closely with other engineers as well as team members on the production floorProficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.Basic CAD software knowledge helpfulApplication Process & Timeline:Interviews for Summer 2027 Internships will begin in Fall 2026 and continue through Spring 2027; postings will remain open until all positions are filled.Due to the volume of applications received, only the candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted.
